I love awards season, and I love the Oscars. They don’t honor every great film, and they are for the most part pointless in dictating which great films live on in history, but it’s a fun night where we attempt to celebrate the best of the year. 

Just for fun, though, I decided to compile my nominees in the alternate reality where none of the films nominated appear on this list. So, for the six main categories, these are the films/people I would’ve selected in said categories, if not given the choice of the actual nominees:
