Why must it be so difficult to let a franchise run its course? A Good Day to Die Hard is one of those profoundly terrible films, one of no merit or enjoyability. It’s the epitome of a franchise running long past its prime, almost into self-mockery, yet even this film can’t infuse that slight bit of entertainment. I liked this franchise, past tense being the key takeaway there; this film makes me want my time back, something very few films do. Every line is clichéd, every set piece derivative, and every character shredded of their dignity. This is a truly awful film.
