The 21st Kaohsiung Film Festival which will be held in Taiwan from November 2 to 11, 2018, has announced the list of films to be screened during the event.

Hanako was born into a privileged Tokyo family. She meets the lawyer Koichiro after a series of failed planned marriage meetings and blind dates. Miki, on the other hand, was born in a rural village but works in Tokyo. She is eking out a life in the big metropolis at the age of 32. The two ladies meet because they are both interested in the same guy, and their worlds collide. The tale portrays the lives of two ladies from various socioeconomic levels in the city.

Under Japanese control, Kaohsiung was an important military post. During the 228. Incident, in which people were violently repressed, it suffered a large number of fatalities. The video depicts how each person survives and maintains their memories through various periods of tyranny. Some individuals and places, as well as the wild tomatoes that grow in this area, have memories of it to this day.

Rai, a disgruntled student and part-time laborer, suddenly time-travels to the Heian era, which is the setting for the classic book The Tale of Genji. He poses as an onmyoji (magical defender of the capital) with a booklet on the period’s history and a bottle of headache pills, and is recruited by the Emperor’s wife Nyogo Kokiden, who plans to have her son take over the Emperor’s position. For fans of sumptuous kimono, this lighthearted historical fantasy is a must-see.
