The first season of CBS’s “Young Sheldon” was such a hit, especially for a network sitcom, that it was renewed for a second season before the first had finished airing. The series stars Iain Armitage as a nine-year-old boy named Sheldon Cooper, a genius child prodigy who has never grown up, and his family, who live in Texas.
Season four of Big Bang Theory ended with a bang as Sheldon, Leonard, Penny, and Raj all reunited to take on the case of a missing woman. When Sheldon was introduced in the pilot, he was a child prodigy with no interest in his family, but we’ve come a long way since then. It’s safe to say that Sheldon isn’t the only one who’s grown up.
Even since the inception of The Big Bang Theory, Sheldon Cooper has been the pivotal character around which the universe revolves the most. Well, primarily, along with Leonard, Howard, Raj, Penny, Bernadette, and Amy. We all know that he is undoubtedly the smartest person in the room. But along with all that intellect, there are some quirks that come along with Sheldon that make him stand apart from conventional customs. And he has been the same man that he was the moment he was born. Speaking of the younger version of Sheldon, it is now time for Young Sheldon’s fifth season to come back for the screen! A lot of people are excited about what comes next.
For the last four seasons, a lot of affairs have taken place in the Cooper family, which focus on many different members of the family other than just Sheldon himself. With other members such as Mary, George, George Jr., Missy, and Connie, the family’s story is only getting more exciting and loving with each passing episode. Over the past few years, the four seasons have come up with the presentation as to how Sheldon has been preparing himself for college. But let us look at other dynamics as well.
When is next for Sheldon in his story?
With Sheldon already going to college, it is only about a matter of time that Sheldon will be coming to Caltech to work as a theoretical physicist. Now, there might be speculations regarding the fact that whether Sheldon’s coming to Caltech may not be a part of the show. But other than that, he will keep on being the constant intellectual that he is.
Sheldon has started to get comfortable here and there around his new college. As he is the brightest student in his department and of the university, the dean of the college is providing him with everything that is required. It is obvious that Sheldon still faces several personality quirks and is not able to handle situations in the most mature way.
A lot of times, Sheldon tries to prove himself by being a mature human being. He does the taxes for his family, starts contributing to the world of science, and helps his university in getting generous donations from people who are eager to spend time with him. Other than that, there are daily scenarios that he encounters with his family and his neighborhood and tries to be catered for every possible need. But regardless of that last part, he is still the young genius everyone adores.
Connie and Dr. Sturgis? Are they getting back together?
Ever since Connie, a.k.a. Sheldon’s Meemaw, broke up with Dr. John Sturgis, her life has taken a little bit of a strange turn. She first met Dr. Sturgis as Sheldon’s teacher in his physics class. Dr. Sturgis is considered to be cute in his own way. In many ways, he and Sheldon are much alike. They are equally smart and have a hard time keeping up with the social conventions.
After Dr. Sturgis went off to Waxahachie to work on the Sern supercollider, Connie started seeing a new man. She started dating her grandaughter’s baseball coach, Dale, who she now loves very much. But it still feels that she is still really affectionate with John. In fact, she almost shows the same kind of love that she does to Dale, just in a more platonic manner.
Now that Dr. Sturgis got fired from his job in Waxahachie and the supercollider, he is now back in town for some more time with the family. He has started working in the supermarket and some might say, he lives the life of a minimalist. He tries to maintain a friendly relation with Connie, even though he ends up feeling very romantic for her. With Dale in the picture, things might get dicey for John and Connie. Will they be a thing once again? What will happen to the fun-loving duo? Wait for the coming seasons to find out!

Young Sheldon renewed for Seasons 5, 6, and 7!
It would be amazing to inform all the fans that the show is not just renewed for the upcoming fifth season. It has also been renewed for seasons 6 and 7 by CBS. That means it is now going to run for 3 more long years. At this time, a lot will be said about the show. It will definitely connect the story to the point where Sheldon gets his doctorate at the age of 16.
We have to keep in mind that the entire storyline has to stay in sync with all the facts that Sheldon has stated about himself in The Big Bang Theory. With Jim Parsons as the narrator of the show, the feeling of The Big Bang Theory is never lost.
Although, someday, we would expect that sometime soon in the coming seasons, Jim Parsons would make a guest appearance on the show. Just like it happened on The Big Bang Theory. Iain Armitage made a friendly appearance, in an episode where Sheldon watches a tape of a younger version of himself when looking for advice. In the same perspective, Jim Parsons can come in like a dream or an epiphany, making young Sheldon wiser by giving him advice that will guide him better.
With all this in mind, Young Sheldon Season 5 has to start the production process soon! The release dates have not been announced yet. Showrunner Chuck Lorre or any of the major producers and actors have not given away any details yet! Let’s just keep our fingers crossed and hope for a quick 5th season arrival! Young Sheldon Season 5 premieres soon!
