The third and last character in the last Suicide Squad photos is on the right side of the ARGUS group photo, and is Florence Flo Crawley (sometimes misspelled Crowly), played by Tinasha Caise. As far as we know, she will be a young ARGUS agent responsible for overseeing and coordinating Task Force X, and everyone else in this group will be her immediate superiors. It’s still unclear whether her initial relationship with Amanda Waller, who in the comic is not only her boss, but also a close relative, which makes her relationship even more complicated than usual, but it does put her in an unusual position, where she is (almost) always on the side of Waller’s lords (yes, she is). Well, let’s see.
Florence Crowley was the daughter of Edna May Blake, and was probably born in Chicago, Illinois. She grew up admiring her mother’s nephew, Amanda Blake, a self-taught woman who returned to school at the age of fifty after losing her son and daughter to street violence and finally found a job with the government; Flo studied computer science and computer science with the sole purpose of one day working with her. Her dreams came true when Amanda set up a secret project, unofficially sponsored by the government, to revive a squadron of war suicides in a totally different persona and convicted criminals forced to work for her and participate in impossible missions in exchange for a reduced sentence. Flo could prove that she was a valuable addition to her cousin’s team, but Amanda had to promise Edna Mae that she would always take care of her if she wanted Flo to work for her. Easier said than done, because the Suicide Squad is constantly engaged in life-threatening missions: The only way Amanda could guarantee Flo’s safety was by never letting her out of Belle Reve, a Louisiana prison that served as the unit’s secret headquarters. Because Flo was in charge of the computers and gathering information, she was perfectly able to do her job from the base and even better than in the field, but she wasn’t completely satisfied with it, feeling that she was always belittled, not only by Amanda, but also by the other team members, who saw her as a kind of talisman, no more than a child. It got even worse when Flo fell in love with the second suicide squad, the Bronze Tiger, but they didn’t turn their feelings around and barely noticed: The girl began to believe that if she had succeeded in taking part in a mission on the side of the Bronze Tiger, he would finally have recognized her value and respected her, and perhaps he would have felt the same way she did for him. Of course, Amanda kept forbidding him from carrying out a field mission, which thwarted his love dreams.
But even because of the computer screen, Flo was able to help the team when she came into contact with a mysterious hacker hiding behind the name Oracle, claiming he was willing to help the Suicide Squad. Commissioned by Amanda Flo, she tried to identify Oracle and even set a trap for a hacker with the virus, but Oracle had much more experience with computers than she did and the virus got a setback. Eventually Flo became friends with Oracle through correspondence and did her best to convince Amanda of the good will of the hacker and what she could be for the team… but it took Amanda a while to trust a helping hand. At the same time, the suicide squad continued to cause a lot of problems, and the missions he missed are more than he accomplished… and despite their best efforts Flo still failed to qualify for the Bronze Tiger, and became jealous when he started a romantic relationship with a new member of the team, Vixen. The only one who seemed to sympathize with her was another new recruit, a mysterious duchess with amnesia… In fact, it was Lashina, one of the women’s furies, who pursued her own program. Flo’s dream of taking part in the field mission came true, but not as she had hoped: When Lashina finally found her way back to the Apocalypse, she kidnapped (or recruited) several members of a suicide squad she could use, including Flo… but whose fate was a gift of her grandmother’s kindness so that she could be tortured and trained to become a new member of the Women’s Furies. The Apocalypse wasn’t for everyone, especially not for a civilian on a first mission, and Flo finally realized she had something more than she could chew… But Amanda was willing to risk everything to save her, so she set up a new suicide team on Earth and found a way to lead the rescue team on the Apocalypse. While Lashina fought with her former allies to regain the position of leader of the Women’s Furies from traitor Bernadette, Amanda Waller and the Suicide Squad fought with everyone and everything to save Flo.
Flo Crowley is a brilliant computer scientist and a naive young woman who does not yet know the world, the least cruel and the least terrible, who, following her inspiration, lives with her mother’s nephew, Amanda Waller. As a professional hacker and trained technician, Flo is not satisfied with her own skills and wants to be something else, hoping to become operational… but only to impress her herd, the Bronze Tiger Warrior. In general, Flo is the only spark of innocence in the world of Suicide Squad, a girl who is too young, too sweet and too kind to be part of the world of spies, murderers and traitors belonging to Suicide Squad.
