Ever since the first Harry Potter movie was released in 2002, the Harry Potter films have taken fans on a journey through the magical world of J.K. Rowling’s universe. The series of eight movies has earned billions of dollars, is the largest film franchise in history and has inspired millions of fans all over the world. It is, quite simply, a phenomenal achievement.
Harry Potter fans rejoice! A new Harry Potter exhibition is coming to Australia! The exhibition, titled “Harry Potter Photographic Exhibition – Harry Potter: A History of Magic” will be on display at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Sydney from July 2017 to April 2018.
Warner Bros. has announced a brand new event for fans of the wizarding world opening in London next month: an exhibition of Harry Potter photographs. Starting July 12, fans are invited to take a journey through the memories of the magical film that ran for 10 years, in an exhibition featuring behind-the-scenes footage never before seen in one place. Featuring hundreds of iconic photographs, the Harry Potter Photo Exhibit takes fans behind the camera to key moments in the film series, from Harry’s first foray off Pier 9 ¾ (one of many iconic moments from the first film, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year) to the Battle of Hogwarts from the final film in the series. The brand new attraction is located in Covent Garden and features hundreds of exclusive shots that have never been seen together before. Fans will discover areas inspired by the Ministry of Magic and Platform 9 ¾. But it’s not just a photo exhibit – the showcase will also be a full-fledged event for Magic World fans: After viewing behind-the-scenes footage, fans are invited to pose for selfies in various green screen photo opportunities. Using green screen technology, fans can step into the shoes of Harry and his friends and fly across London on a broom. Budding wizards and witches can don their Hogwarts robes, hop on a broom and see how Harry and his friends were created to fly. For the first time, fans can even pose for their own Ministry of Magic badge. Souvenir photos and videos of their adventures will be available in several packages. The most important thing Fantastic Beasts fans should notice is the inclusion of a room dedicated to the Fantastic Beasts film series (and the Cursed Child), which shows how magic lives in the Muggle world. The UK’s first beer bar will also make its debut at the show: Fans can enjoy the magical drink, served on a souvenir plate, at the show’s Butterbeer Bar or purchase a bottle to enjoy at home. Butterbeer is made and brewed in the UK, has an entirely unique style and is offered in beautiful souvenir glass bottles, each with an exclusive collector’s label designed by MinaLima, the design duo behind the graphic props for the Harry Potter and Fantastic Animals films. A delicious non-alcoholic beverage drunk fresh from the bottle. This is a new approach to the well-known and beloved taste of butterscotch. The unique blend of top secret ingredients makes the bottle of butterbeer a must for any witch or wizard in the making. Fans enter the Butterbeer Bar, a space inspired by medieval butterbeer etiquette, and are invited to take a seat in a butterbeer keg or copper cauldron to enjoy a refreshing magical drink and treats inspired by the magical world. The exhibition will open on the 12th. Tickets must be pre-ordered on the harrypotteronlocation website, which opens in July.
