Fans of Haneke’s “The White Ribbon” have been eagerly awaiting the release of the film’s original soundtrack, which finally came out last week. The movie costars Isabelle Huppert, and was co-written and directed by Jacques Audiard, also known for “A Prophet.” It takes place in 1894 France, just as World War I was beginning.

The motion picture soundtrack for Occupation Rainfall, the first feature film shot in the St. Louis area, is now available on iTunes . The soundtrack contains 14 original songs by Chris Perry, along with bonus tracks, including a cover of The Police’s “Every Breath You Take” by Chris Perry, and an original song by Chris Perry and Andrew Broder.

Following the success of the critically acclaimed film ‘Occupation’, the film’s original score is now available on iTunes and Amazon. Kaleido Sound is pleased to announce the release of the soundtrack to Lionsgate’s sci-fi film Occult Rain, written by Frederick Wiedmann (Prince of Dragons, Act of Vengeance).

Widmann has been inspired by film composition since he first heard John Barry’s score for Dances With Wolves at the age of 12. Widmann is the composer of the hit Disney Junior show Miles of Tomorrowland, as well as the critically acclaimed Netflix animated fantasy series Prince of Dragons, created by the writers of the popular series: Avatar: The Last Airbender. Widmann has made major contributions to the DC Cinematic Universe, starting with his work on Green Lantern: The Animated Series, for which he received two consecutive Annie Award nominations. His success with the series led to other popular DC projects from Warner Bros. such as Justice League:Flashpoint Paradox, Son of Batman, Death of Superman, Justice League:Gods and Monsters, Batman: Gotham by Gaslight and others.

Occupation Rain, directed by Luke Spark, is set two years after the intergalactic invasion of Earth. The surviving inhabitants of Sydney, Australia, fight back in a desperate land war. As casualties increase daily, the Resistance and its unexpected allies uncover a plot that could lead to a decisive end to the war. When alien invaders want to make Earth their new home, the race to save humanity begins.

About the soundtrack of Occupation Rainfall, composer Frederick Widmann said the following:

This project was a large musical canvas that left a lot of room for the composer’s creativity, which made my heart beat with excitement. As soon as I saw a few clips of the movie, I knew it was going to be an epic adventure.

Luke Spark, the director, and I shot about 117 minutes for this two-hour sci-fi film, which required both of us to have a large orchestra. Organizing an orchestra of this size was not easy because of COVID-19, but we managed to record in London at AIR Studios and in Macedonia at FAMES Stadium to create the sound we both wanted.

The film is action-packed, with stunning visuals and acting. But behind the film’s blood-curdling, adrenaline-filled facade lies a larger philosophical question: How far are you willing to go for the good of all? I did my best to convey the depth of this theme by using a lot of thematic material to highlight the difficult choices our characters inevitably face, as well as their emotional journey through the film.
